Sleep Apnea is caused when air is restricted by a narrow passage, while sleeping, it causes snoring. If the restriction results in a decrease of oxygen it can cause a sleeping disorder. One of the most common reasons for the restricted airway is a mispositioned jaw. Some people’s lower jaw is set further back than normal, causing the base of the jaw bone to obstruct the airway.
Signs and symptoms associated with a sleep disorder and breathing issue include:

- Mouth breathing during the day or at nighttime
- Difficulty sleeping or restless sleep
